Brent Rau is 2007 NHRA Sport Compact Modified
Champion!
Rau won his first championship by merely staging his car in the first round of
eliminations. He was in his first year racing the Xplod Series. He was also
looking to close out the season by winning the event, but he had a pedal fest
with Ken Scheepers and his Mazda. Rau broke his transmission and Scheepers blew
his engine, and then the fans had to wait and see which car had the power to
make it to the finish line first. Scheepers had the coasting power in his car.
"This feels awesome to come out and win with the competition that is in this
category," said Rau. "We missed a race due to electrical problems, but then came
out and set the record three times, Englishtown twice and Indy. I overcame the
obstacles of having the smallest turbo and the 250 pounds that were added to my
car. We still came out on top. I want to thank NHRA for giving us a safe place
to race and a nice venue to put on a show. I want to thank my crew and family
for putting up with me and traveling all those hours. I want to thank ACT, Borg
Warner, and Magnus Motorsports for all their help."
Magnus congratules Brent Rau on his record breaking season!

Central Florida Turbo wins Clinches NHRA title!
The Central Florida Turbo team worked hard on the weekend to win this one! After
a 22hour drive to englishtown, they achieved some excellent 1.56 60 ft's and
4.36's in the 330" with their new Magnus dogbox. Unfortunately on a missed shift
they experienced some bent valves. At 10:30 PM they began dismantling the motor
from the car to perform a rebuild. They installed new head new pistons new rods
and new bearings, and were finished by 2:15am. After some tuning between passes
they got the car to run a 9.70@156mph, enough to clinch the championship in NHRA
Sport Compact Sport FWD class.
We extend our Congratulations to an awesome performance by a professional
winning team with heart!
CFT runs a Magnus Honda B-series Dogbox on their 800+ hp Bubble back Honda
Civic. They also Picked up over 40 hp in the midrange and 20 hp on the top end
with their switch to a Magnus Race intake manifold for B series, over a
different popular intake manifold.
More race winning and championship winning components by Magnus!

Magnus 2G talon Wins CSCS and sets new Personal
best mph!.
Because of time constraints this year, we were only able to make it to the track
for the second time this year. After a 1 year absence from winning any events,
the Magnus Blue 2G Talon came out with a vengeance. Blasting a qualifying pass
of 9.2 @ 168 on a 2.0 60 ft. Marco was testing the track to see what kind of
traction it could take while slowly applying more power to the ground on the
launch. With a dismal 1.6 60 ft the Talon blasted an 8.70 @ 171mph, enough to
qualify number one and eventually enough to win the event. This was only running
at a conservative 900 hp level. Wait till the Boys from Magnus pump it up to
full steam and sort the launches back to where they should be in the low 1.3
60ft range.
"It really felt good to finally get out again this year, and put the car through
its paces, we had been wanting to show what the car was capable of, at the end
of last year the car was already clipping the low 170's and once we re-tune the
chassis again for our signature smooth launches, you will see some great ET's
accompanying these monster MPH's."

The Ososfast Team came back with a vengeance in
NJ.
After battling engine problems in Florida and electrical problems causing them
to miss the Virginia race, Brent made his mark in NHRA Sport Compact this
weekend.
First round of qualifying on Saturday, Brent pulled through three gears and
wisely aborted the run due to tire shake. Back in the pits Brent made
adjustments to his tune-up and the chassis and was ready to put up some numbers.
Second round Brent ran a 7.10@199.17 shattering the National record by two
tenths putting him in the number one qualifying position. “It felt awesome; I
lifted twice during that run and still ran a number. With the help of Brad
Personett from Titan Motorsports, tuning the car, we have been able to put
things back together.”
Sunday morning third round of qualifying, sitting in the number one position,
Brent felt confident he would remain number one qualifier and decided not to
run.
First round of eliminations, remaining in the number one position, Brent had a
bi-run. Second round Brent went up against Ken Scheepers. Brent's reaction time
was slower, but his Eclipse was able to out power the RX8 the rest of the way
down the track with a 7.06 at 183.72mph. Final round Brent raced long time
rival, Paul Effantis, with an 0.074 reaction time, to Paul's 0.94 Brent clearly
was out on the six cylinder Solera. In and out of the groove, pedaling and
lifting Brent still managed to run 7.09@173mph. The Osofast team took the win
and Brent received his first Wally in NHRA sport compact racing. Stay tuned for
the next race in Atco NJ June 9th & 10th.
