Description
Magnus McLaren Ductile Iron Engine Sleeves
Heavy-Duty Ductile Iron Sleeves for High-Power Builds
Magnus McLaren Engine Sleeves are engineered to address a known limitation of the factory cylinder design in high-power applications. The OEM steel sleeve, while adequate at stock power levels, has a tendency to bend under extreme cylinder pressure. Once steel bends, it often retains an out-of-round shape, compromising bore concentricity, ring seal, and long-term engine reliability.
Magnus sleeves are manufactured from thick-wall, heavy-duty ductile iron, specifically chosen for its superior rigidity and dimensional stability. This design helps resist deformation under high boost and high combustion loads, maintaining bore shape and fighting ovalling in extreme horsepower applications.
Designed for serious street and motorsport engine programs, Magnus McLaren Engine Sleeves provide the foundation required when pushing well beyond factory limits. Magnus Sleeves are finish bored so they can be replaced without any additional machining!

Professional machining and installation required. Intended for built engines exceeding factory power levels.
As others enthusiasts began to modify and upgrade their McLarens, Magnus began getting calls for repairs and upgrades. McLaren did not offer replacement parts at the time and customers requested increased loads of over 1500 hp to be placed on the engine. Post mortems revealed the engines were suffering from excessive oil consumption, early failure and bent connecting rods – and a need for replacement McLaren Parts.
The Magnus McLaren Engine Development Program utilizes our over 29 years of experience in producing some of the worlds finest racing engines and road engines. We have produced proprietary Pistons, Connecting Rods and Crankshaft, as well as improved Cylinder Liners, Head Gaskets, Fasteners, and all other associated parts needed to build and manage added power.
